Soil Texture Test
Our test for soil texture is the soil jar test.
The soil jar test establishes the proportion of clay, silt, and sand of soils, which is key to understanding the retention of water and nutrients.
The test involves putting soil samples in glass jars, adding water and then observing 1 minute later, 2 hours later and 24 hours later.

Texture triangle
You will use the texture triangle diagram to interpret your results. It provides a rough estimate on the percentages of sand, silt, and clay in the soil.
